Man of Sorrows
Man of Sorrows
In “Man of Sorrows” I wanted to portray the immense suffering Christ endured on our behalf. This work reflects the depth of His compassion, empathy, and love. He is not a disconnected God—He is one who has walked the path of human pain. Every tear we cry, every heartache, every fear or sorrow, He has already felt it. Through His atonement, He descended to the lowest depths of suffering so that He could lift us from ours.
In this piece, I wanted to capture the weight of His sorrow, not to focus on despair, but to remind us that we are never alone in our pain. Jesus Christ knows it all—our anguish, our loneliness, and our grief. He carries those burdens with us, offering a deep, abiding love that understands our most hidden heartaches.
I hope you view this image of Christ in “Man of Sorrows” as a portrait of both suffering and hope. It is a reminder that no matter how dark our trials may feel, He has already been there, and because He has, we can overcome anything with Him. His love is infinite. I hope you feel the comfort and peace of knowing that Christ not only sees your pain but has borne it, so that you may one day find healing and joy in Him.
